OUR STORY

HOME IS PERSONAL. SO ARE WE.

IT STARTED WITH A NICKNAME.

Before it was a real estate company, Housecats was a college nickname for founder Shane Hall—a good-natured nod to a homebody who appreciated having a place of his own. The name stuck. Over time, it came to represent something more. Home is where conversations run long, ideas become plans, and ordinary routines turn into memories. It is where people invite others in and make a little corner of the world their own. That understanding sits alongside the practical work of real estate. A property has a location, a condition, a market position, and a price. It also has a place in someone’s life. Good advice needs to account for both. Shane built Housecats to offer that kind of guidance: useful market context, thoughtful representation, and a connection to the community long before a transaction begins.
DIFFERENT HOMES. THE SAME COMMITMENT.

WHAT DOESN’T CHANGE

DIFFERENT HOMES. THE SAME COMMITMENT.

A first purchase. A move across town. A waterfront property. A home someone has owned for decades.

The circumstances change. Our standard does not.

Every client deserves relentless effort, professional guidance, empathy, and gratitude—regardless of price point. That commitment is part of the Housecats approach, not a service reserved for a particular kind of property.

It means explaining the tradeoffs, not simply recommending the easiest next step. Preparing carefully. Communicating clearly. Following through on the details that are easy to overlook.

Sometimes the right advice helps you move forward. Sometimes it helps you decide that you are not ready yet. Our job is to help you understand the decision, not make it for you.

Take the work seriously. Treat people well. Follow through.

THE PLACE. THE PEOPLE. THE STORY.

LOCAL INTELLIGENCE

THE PLACE. THE PEOPLE. THE STORY.

Our work spans Greater Annapolis, Greater Baltimore, the Eastern Shore, and Southern Maryland. Each is part of our regional focus, with its own communities, properties, and reasons people choose to call it home.

Knowing a place means paying attention to more than what is for sale. It means being curious about its history, its businesses, its architecture, and the changes people are talking about.

That curiosity is part of Housecats. We use market context and community storytelling to be a useful resource before someone is ready to buy or sell—not only when a transaction is underway.

It also shapes how we present a home. Our photography and films look closely at its setting, its spaces, and the details that make it distinct.
